New wind sock

Is there any chance we may have a windsock for GA use which is visable with ease from the hold for Runway 23? The current wind sock is visable in the distance but is possibly of more use to SAR than those using Runway 23.

Are you volunteering to pay for it?

Joking aside, the microlighters are planning to fit a windsock to the small concrete building to the south of the runway. They've been given permission to erect it, it's just a matter of getting the bits and doing the work. (Plugging in as power drill must be tricky).

WRT to the "new" windsock erected for SAR use, I gather that in a well thought-out bit of planning they managed to erect it in a location where it can't be seen from the SAR crew-room or from the driving seat of a helicopter on the pan facing in the usual direction (west).
